About Us

We are an Association of over 190 members primarily representing local government Building Code Officials and those involved in building design, construction, testing and research.

The Building Officials' Association of Georgia (BOAG) has grown since 1958 from 12 members to nine (9) chapters across the State of Georgia. It fulfills much the same objectives as originally proposed; consistent Code interpretation; a forum for discussion; education, standards of Code knowledge and since 1997, a technical certification program for our membership.

BOAG members serve on many state and national committees that review building regulatory issues in the State of Georgia and the nation. We liaise with the International Code Council (ICC) to bring about a greater understanding of harmonization of Codes, acceptance of accreditation, and recognition of commonality of our respective endeavors.

We are closely affiliated to our colleagues in the building industry and interact through zoning meetings, seminars, executive meetings, workshops, our annual conference and annual business meeting, various association committees, and appointments to various building industry committees.

Building Official
Central Louisiana

Description
SAFEbuilt Louisiana has an opening for a Building Official in our Central, Louisiana office. This office will serve as the building department for the City of Central as well as the center for our operations in Louisiana.

The ideal candidate would have experience with running a Building Department as well as being comfortable doing plan reviews and going out into the field to perform building inspections.

In addition to being the Building Official for the City of Central this position will also be working to establish SAFEbuilt’s presence in the state. As the operation grows, the Building Official will be integral in the selection and interview process of additional team members.

For more than 16 years SAFEbuilt has been providing contract plan reviews, building department administration, commercial project support and building inspection services.

With offices in the states of Colorado, Florida, Georgia and Washington, SAFEbuilt has grown to become a pre-eminent provider of building department services by redefining how those services are delivered while staying true to our core values of integrity, teamwork, service, continuous improvement and respect.

SAFEbuilt offers municipal building department services and only works for cities, counties and government agencies. Our company is strongly dedicated to the building code and to the needs of our team members. Skills Desired
Candidates must be ICC certified as a building official and should hold additional certificates in various disciplines. Candidates should also have extensive knowledge of residential, multi-family and commercial construction.

Salary Range
Commensurate with experience and certifications.

December 30, 2008:  Please note that owing to the resignation of Elaine Youmans we are in the course of replacing her data from this web site as contact for the many projects she headed.  As we find these references we will replace them with the current names and contact data.  Our new postal mailing address is: BOAG, P O Box 907, Fortson, Georgia, 31808. Members are to discard all older forms reflecting invalid addresses.  And please advise your accounting department of our new address.  Otherwise they may mis-direct your registrations fees and dues payments.
