|Position Information||This position is located in the Development and Inspections – Administration Division of the Community Development Department.|
|Salary||$66,412.55 - $106,260.08 per year|
|Essential Duties||Plans, manages and directs the daily operations of the Development and Inspections Division.
Prepares and administers annual budget, performs financial analyses of the division operations, and conducts periodic budget performance evaluations.
Establishes, monitors and communicates division policies and procedures to ensure the safety conditions within buildings.
Plans and implements goals, objectives, and strategies for the Division to ensure efficient use of resources, completion of work, and enforcement of County codes and ordinances.
Confers with upper management to keep them informed of key issues and progress toward objectives and to gain their support and approval, and makes recommendations for needed improvements.
Ensures that all codes are properly interpreted and updated regularly by submitting agenda items for review and comment to the Board of Commissioners.
Deals with the concerns and complaints of homeowners and the general public, developers, builders, contractors, advisory boards and the Board of Adjustments and Appeals.
Serves as the Building Official to provide code interpretation of building codes.
Attends regional home builders association meetings and pre-construction meetings.
Speaks in front of public groups and to respond to questions.
Deals effectively with members of the news media for purposes of providing building, permit and inspection statistics.
Performs personnel management functions, e.g., recommends hiring, discipline, promotion actions; evaluates performance; counsels employees regarding development.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
